Painter, Occidental CA

Since I was really young, I've been able to get very lost in seeing. I think it's close to meditation. The way patterns repeat themselves loosely in a fire, and ripple out. When you stare at something statically for a long time, the mind has a funny way of creating movement, floating bits of blurriness. Optical illusions start to form.
When I'm making work, it's more personal — I want to get lost in seeing, and to make exactly what it is I want to see.
